ROCKFORD, Ill., March 26, 2012 – ADM Mechanical, of Decatur, Illinois was recently named the winner of the 2012 Rusty Demeules Award for Safety Excellence. This is the first year for the award, which is presented by the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association (FMA) and sponsored by CNA Insurance.  The award was created by FMA’s Safety Council to recognize a company with a demonstrated safety culture. It is named in honor of Demeules, a significant volunteer contributor to FMA, who was President of the FMA Safety Committee from its inception in 1989 until 1996.

ADM Mechanical is a full-service fabrication, machining, and repair shop dedicated to safe production of equipment for use throughout the agricultural processing industry. With over 27 years of experience in the field of pressure vessel manufacturing, the staff of 68 operate a state-of-the-art facility, offering support ranging from engineering and CAD design to custom fabrication and complex repair. The core of the business is structured around heat exchanger manufacturing, high pressure tank/piping fabrication, gearbox, centrifuge and pump rebuilding for plants across North America.

ADM Mechanical’s significant achievements in the area of safety include no recordable injuries in their facility since June 2008.  The company also requires each new employee to complete a three day safety training course prior to entering the facility. In addition daily, weekly and monthly inspections are performed by several of the hourly employees.

The award will be presented to ADM in a dinner ceremony during FMA’s Annual Safety Conference to be held April 25-26 at the Best Western Milwaukee Airport in Milwaukee, Wis.  As the winner, a representative of ADM will receive complimentary registration, travel, and hotel accommodations at the conference.
