FMA’s Annual Meeting is a must-attend tradition for those working to move ahead in today’s competitive fabricating and processing market. Plan to join us March 8-10 at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans to recharge your batteries, meet fellow leaders like yourself, and learn from these new contacts in our exclusive peer-to-peer roundtables as well as interactive panel discussions.
Applying for an FMA/CNA Safety Award is a great way to recognize your employees for a job well done. Feedback from past winners has shown that some companies have celebrations to acknowledge receiving an award. They might, for example, display their plaque for the first time at a company lunch where all employees are treated to pizza and thanked for their continuing commitment to safety.Read More

In my last column we looked at how to “disengage the clutch” with our thinking processes by recognizing that we are not our thoughts; rather, we are the thinker and manager of our thoughts. When we step back to examine our thinking to see which thoughts remain valuable and which thoughts have exhausted themselves, we disconnect with our thinking the way we would step out of the driver’s seat of a car. Once out of the car, we can put it on a lift and work to repair it or tune it for high performance.

How do you make important decisions about the future of your business?
If you’re like most successful leaders, you look for some hard data about the market and benchmark your company against other similar organizations. In order to do this, you need information that’s relevant to the metal forming and fabricating industry, as current as possible, and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. That’s where we come in.
On Tuesday November 8, it will be time to end debate and make a decision about who to cast your ballot for as the next President of the United States. By its very nature, our democratic republic is messy, confusing, frustrating, and most importantly worth fighting for. Regardless of which candidate you ultimately pull the lever for, participation in this year’s election helps makes us all stronger as citizens of the United States.
