Partnership Aims to Help Manufacturing Employers Find Credentialed Workers

ROCKFORD, Ill., August 4, 2016 – The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Intl. (FMA) announces a new partnership with WorkAmerica, an online recruiting platform designed specifically for manufacturing employers searching for workers with the appropriate skill sets, training, and credentials. On WorkAmerica, job seekers create a profile and add the industry-recognized credentials they have earned. The website can also help candidates to generate a resume based on their profile. Companies can then search the extensive database of prospective employees by location, experience, credential, or even a specific skill in order to recruit the ideal candidate.

Certified Precision Sheet Metal Operators (PSMO), participants in FMA’s metal fabrication training and certificate courses, along with students enrolled in a manufacturing curriculum at an FMA Certified Education Center (CEC) member school, are encouraged to request access at workamerica.co. The service is free for individuals to build a profile highlighting his or her education, experience, and industry certificates or certifications earned.

According to Jim Warren, executive director of membership, education, and foundation for FMA, “Our members consistently tell us that their number one concern for the future of their company is finding enough qualified employees with the right skills. Individuals who attend FMA’s training courses and certificate programs in metal fabrication have acquired the skills employers need and have earned the credentials to prove it. Our partnership with WorkAmerica will help our member companies to find and recruit the best employees from a listing of pre-qualified candidates and also help certificants to quickly land the perfect job.”

The partnership will provide additional benefits to FMA member companies including access to the WorkAmerica database and an exclusive 15 percent discount on their services.
