Honor to be bestowed at 2023 FMA Annual Meeting

ELGIN, Ill. – The Fabricators and Manufactures Association, International (FMA) along with the Association of Steel Distributors (ASD) has announced that Valentino Simone, president of Target Steel, has received the 2023 ASD Steel Executive of the Year Award.

“I look at the people on this list who were honored before me … it’s pretty impressive,” said Mr. Simone. “I’m getting credit for this, but without my team there’s not Target Steel.”

For over three decades, Valentino Simone has rigorously worked toward the continuous growth and success of Target Steel, a steel service center in southeast Michigan. Prior to launching Target Steel, Mr. Simone held various sales and management positions at several steel companies, learning the many processes and departmental functions within the flat rolled steel industry.

With his brother Michael, Mr. Simone has spent his career building Target Steel into a successful company achieving annual growth for more than 30 years. Together, they have grown Target Steel to be one of the premier steel service centers in the country and have expanded to seven locations in their family of businesses.

Mr. Simone will receive the honor during the 2023 FMA Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, N.V.

Since 1956, this award has recognized individuals who have made lasting contributions to the steel distribution industry over a significant period, and it is the most distinguished honor in the industry.
