Applying for an FMA/CNA Safety Award is a great way to recognize your employees for a job well done. Feedback from past winners has shown that some companies have celebrations to acknowledge receiving an award. They might, for example, display their plaque for the first time at a company lunch where all employees are treated to pizza and thanked for their continuing commitment to safety.

All FMA company level-members are eligible to participate in the Safety Awards program – simply submit your OSHA 300A form to Nancy Hatten at nancyh@fmanet.org. There is no limit on the number of companies who receive an award. There are several levels of achievement – to win, a company must better OSHA’s published incidence rate for their NAICS code.

Many of the safety award winners choose to receive their plaque alongside industry peers at FMA’s Annual Safety Conference, in 2017 held April 19-20, where there is a reception and dinner honoring the recipients. The conference is a great opportunity to learn the latest from speakers who are experts on safety topics, and attendees have many opportunities to network and share the successes and challenges they face at their companies. A highlight of the conference each year are the plant tours – on April 20, 2017 there will be a tour of Elgin Sweepers, a manufacturer of street sweepers for over 100 years; and of Fabric Images, an award winning manufacturer of custom tensioned fabric architecture.

FMA is pleased to welcome safety award winners to their newly constructed headquarters in Elgin, Ill. The safety conference will be the first event to use the new meeting space!

Thank you to CNA for their years of sponsorship and support of the FMA Safety Awards program.
